We are looking for a staff attorney to provide legal representation to referred hospital patients through LSNJ’s Medical-Legal Partnership project (LAMP). LAMP’s mission is to address the socio-economic impediments to health faced by referred client-patients through coordinated advocacy by lawyers and medical providers.

LAMP attorneys will practice in a number of areas including the following: special education and guardianship, housing and entitlements (SSI/SSDI, food stamps, TANF and GA), as well as healthcare access (Medicaid and Medicare denials).

The project has office space at several hospitals in NJ and the position is based out of Edison, as well as at one or more of these provider facilities. Additionally, LAMP staff provide outreach and education to hospital staff and families served by those hospitals.

Requirements: 

We will consider individuals with various levels of relevant legal experience. An ideal candidate would have legal experience in one or more of the areas listed above. Successful candidates will have the ability to work and communicate effectively with low-income clients. Training is offered to staff, especially in new substantive legal areas and regular case review meetings are held in Edison.
