Position Description: 

Legal Aid seeks a full-time staff attorney to provide general legal representation in the areas of domestic, housing, public benefits, and other areas, as assigned. The attorney in this position will represent clients in administrative, judicial, and legislative forums, as needed. Legal Aid has offices in Joplin, Warrensburg, St. Joseph and 3 offices in Kansas City, including the Municipal Court office, our West office that handles community development and our Central office. Our attorneys enjoy autonomy in their cases and freedom from quotas or billing requirements.

Salary: $50,310 + depending on experience.

Requirements: 

The qualified candidate must have the following: a Missouri law license; excellent written and oral communication skills; and a desire and commitment to assist in the delivery of high quality legal assistance to low income clients. Experience in poverty law and/or trial experience is preferred, but not required.
