Position Description: 

Staff Attorney – Coeur d’Alene Office.

Idaho Legal Aid Services (ILAS) Idaho’s largest no-cost, public interest law firm - has an opening for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) attorney to join our dynamic statewide nonprofit, helping vulnerable Idahoans with critical legal needs. Your caseload will primarily consist of housing, public entitlements, guardianships, elder law, and family law where there is domestic violence. The position also includes outreach and education to individuals and organizations that serve our client community, which may include LGBTQ, unhoused, refugee, veteran, immigrant, and Native American groups.

The attorney will be based out of our Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Office. The city is located on stunning Coeur d’Alene Lake. Coeur d’Alene is a growing community with a high quality of life, vibrant downtown, excellent restaurants and amenities, and outdoor recreation in every direction.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter who wants to make a difference in the lives of our clients. We want applicants with a history of public service. Duties include independently managing caseload from beginning to end, communicating with clients, providing timely reporting, drafting legal documents, appearing at various court appearances, and working closely with other attorneys and staff. Annual salary for this position is $47,250+, DOE (37.5 hour week). Relocation assistance is available. We invest heavily in training our attorneys and encourage them to participate in the professional aspects of being a member of the Idaho State Bar.

Requirements: 

Must be admitted to the Idaho State Bar or eligible to be licensed promptly.
