GBLA is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to conduct intake and assess the client’s eligibility and legal needs. The Senior Paralegal will also supervise the legal support staff, in additional to his/her daily tasks.
Under immediate supervision of a licensed attorney has primary responsibility for high-volume caseload. Individual is expected to exercise initiative and judgment in legal research, document composition, and overall case-handling
The right candidate will also supervisor the support staff.
Must have knowledge of various legal documents, and there uses; filing procedures and legal terminology. The Paralegal must have the ability to collect and examine factual data; understand and apply legal principles and procedure; draft letters, pleading and other legal documents; make logical presentations of statement of fact; establish and maintain effective working relationships with attorneys, officials and the general public, and must have the ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced and demanding atmosphere, strong organizational silks, careful attention to detail, as well as flexibility to adapt rapidly to a wide variety of task. Minimum qualifications: Completion of an approved legal professional training program, or, a BA degree and a minimum of 1 year of law-related experience in family law or guardianship, or, a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years of law-related experience. Experience with Essential Forms-Judicial Council a plus.
