WHO WE ARE: Founded in 1966, CRLAs mission is to fight for justice and individual rights alongside the most exploited communities of our society. Through a network of regional offices and cross-cutting programs, CRLA provides legal services to tens of thousands of low-income people annually.
Organization Overview:
Lakeshore Legal Aid serves low-income people, seniors, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual
assault in a holistic manner to address clients’ legal issues and improve our communities. Lakeshore
provides free direct legal representation in southeast Michigan and the thumb and client intake, advice,
and brief legal services throughout Michigan via our attorney-staffed hotline. Our practice areas include
housing, family, consumer, elder, education, and public benefits law.
Position Overview:
Lakeshore is seeking a dedicated lawyer to review client cases and intakes through our Counsel and
Advocacy Law Line. A case reviewer will be responsible for ensuring that staff attorneys assist clients in a
holistic manner to achieve clients’ goals through advice and brief service on the law line. A case
reviewer works closely with the director and supervisors to support staff attorneys, while ensuring
quality legal services. A case reviewer will have experience and expertise in our practice areas of law,
review cases for compliance, handle urgent case referrals, and ensure that staff comply with funding
requirements.

Position Overview:
Lakeshore Legal Aid is seeking dedicated lawyers who will advocate and litigate on behalf of clients facing legal problems relating to housing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This attorney may represent clients in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. Staff attorneys will be responsible for representing clients in a holistic manner to achieve clients’ goals through advocacy including litigation. The position will remain mostly remote until December 30, 2023.
