STAFF ATTORNEYS – Four Positions
ICLS seeks to hire attorneys with passion for justice for low income persons in the civil justice system. San Bernardino: (1) attorney to engage in Administrative Law Practice, including litigation, to aggressively advocate on behalf of indigent persons whose benefits have been denied, reduced or terminated, who has a focus on identifying systemic legal barriers and (2) healthcare law attorney to advocate on behalf of clients’ rights under the Affordable Care Act who are experiencing access to medical care benefits. Rural Indio Office in Riverside County: (1) an experienced attorney to practice civil poverty law, including consumer and housing legal issues and (2) an attorney to practice civil poverty law with a demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of poor people. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
A. Education:
Degree from a law school and an active member of the California Bar in good standing.
B. Work Experience:
Ability to understand the objectives of poverty law.
Prior work experience, paid or volunteer, in a legal services office serving low-income clients, considered an asset for employment.
C. Language:
1. An ability to relate to the client community being served.
2. The ability to speak the Spanish language is a desirable asset.
