Salary: $69,600.00 annually minus required deductions (Social Security, Wage and Salary Taxes, Etc.)
Location: John C. Gibbons Building, Koror State Capitol
Duration: Two years, renewable contract
Job Description:
The Koror State Legislature (“KSL”) is seeking legal counsel for two-year contract. Compensation package: $60,000.00 annually with housing allowance of $9,600.00 annually, paid round–trip transportation, and shipment of household and personal effects up to $800.00 each way.

The successful candidate will provide legal services to the Koror State Legislature. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: the drafting and analysis of legislation, the preparation of legal opinions on the interpretation and constitutionality of provisions of existing law or of proposed legislation, attendance at legislative committee hearings, preparing committee reports, consulting and providing advice to legislators, drafting memoranda and other official communications, legal opinions, and letters as well as working with state departments and national ministries, constituents, and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be a strong writer with proven analytical abilities and an ability to work under deadlines. The candidate must be a graduate from an accredited law school and a member in a good standing of a bar in the United States. The position calls for an individual who is hard working, friendly, relaxed, and professional approach to dealing with people. On occasion, must be expected to attend meetings at night or during weekends.
