Brief Description of the Organization: The Legal Aid Society provides civil legal assistance to indigent residents of Orange County. We are a client-centered organization committed to providing a full range of high-quality legal services. We have a longstanding tradition of partnership with the private bar. We work closely with other local non-profits and we collaborate state-wide to provide access to justice.
Position Description: Answer all phone calls for new clients, compose correspondence, calendaring of appointments, completing intake applications, data entry in case management software, faxing, filing, copying, scanning, and organizing electronic and hard copy files, among other duties.
Skills/Qualifications: 3-5 years of office experience preferred. Customer service or social service experience preferred. Bilingual in Spanish or Creole preferred. Must be competent in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook). Must have excellent grammar, writing, phone skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Sales or telemarketing experience helpful.
Time Requirement: The office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm. Community education and outreach activities also require night and weekend hours on occasion.
