Resources Development Assistant– Metro Detroit
Organization Overview: Lakeshore Legal Aid serves people living with low income, older adults, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in a holistic manner to address clients’ legal issues and improve our communities. Lakeshore provides free, direct legal representation in southeast Michigan and the thumb and client intake, advice, and brief legal services throughout Michigan via our attorney-staffed hotline. Our practice areas include housing, family, consumer, elder, education, and public benefits law.

Position Overview:
Lakeshore Legal Aid is seeking a part-time Resource Development Assistant to support the Director of Resource Development. This position will assist in carrying out Lakeshore’s mission by providing high-quality administrative and clerical assistance.

General Responsibilities:
•Manage the Development Director’s calendar and the grants and outreach calendars, schedule meetings
•Take notes at meetings, and track follow-up tasks
•Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
•Assist in preparing proposals, reports, fundraising appeals, newsletters, social media posts, marketing materials, and radio/television broadcast content
•Assist with planning and executing fundraising events, outreach activities, or donor briefings
•Generate thank-you letters, and ensure timely follow-up
•Maintain and update donor databases and email lists
•Proofread and format content as requested
•Assist with planning and executing fundraising events, outreach activities, or donor briefings
•Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the director, CEO or a CEO designee.

Requirements: 

Qualifications:
•High School Diploma/GED is required
•Bachelor of Arts in Communications preferred
•Possesses at least 5 years' experience of administrative and/or office support experience
•Experience with creative software and internet applications, including social media campaigns. (preferred)
•Strong communication and relationship building skills, excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communications skills, and public speaking skills.
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365.
•Demonstrate professional behavior, teamwork and dependability.

•Starting pay ranges from $18.60
•Hybrid Remote Work Schedule
