Neighborhood Legal Services Program of the District of Columbia is seeking an operations manager.

NLSP is a private, non-profit law firm that provides high quality civil legal services to low-income residents of the District of Columbia. NLSP provides legal representation in a full range of civil matters affecting the lives of low-income DC residents, including housing, consumer protection, family court disputes, income maintenance, barriers to employment and public benefits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
Research, evaluate and make recommendations for the procurement of services, equipment, furniture, and supplies for all locations.
Serve as the point of contact with information technology and related vendor services.
Observe, review, and analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvement.
Ensure that new employees have access to appropriate systems and office space (for example, email account, SharePoint access, office keys and IT equipment.)
Ensure system access is terminated, and equipment is collected for separating employees.
Collaborate with leadership to set departmental and organizational wide goals.
Manage and track inventory and equipment.
Serve on safety, strategic planning, physical office space and other committees as needed.
Manage the organization’s safety plan and provide staff training.
Manage NLSP’s SharePoint site.
Support the development and monitoring of new and existing organizational plans and projects.
Design and maintain an operation manual to ensure consistency of operations.
Provide administration related information to development and compliance teams as required for grant applications, reports, and compliance with grant requirements
Contracts and Finance
Oversee and manage contracts and negotiations with vendors, service providers and other external partners.
Manage accounts payable, receivables and employee reimbursements.
Provide input in the preparation of the annual operations budget.
Facility Management
Manage facilities and related duties including the creation and management of routine onsite maintenance schedule for all locations.
Ensure the organization’s compliance with applicable health, building, zoning and safety licensing and certification requirements.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with experience, starting at $75,520 to $91,588 for 18 years of experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented and deadline driven. Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience processing accounts payable.
• Excellent problem solver with sound judgement and the ability to meet adversity with tenacity.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact with NLSP employees and the public.
• Must work well under pressure, possess excellent organizational abilities, and able to manage several priorities in a day.
• Must be adaptable, creative, and self-motivated.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience working in a similar nonprofit organization.
