About the Position: HLA seeks licensed attorneys or law graduates with pending admission to join our dynamic Immigration Program to provide legal counsel and represent clients in a variety of immigration matters, including: DACA; Asylum; U Visas; T Visas; TPS; SIJS; VAWA; Removal proceedings; Work permits; Bond hearings; BIA; Federal litigation; Advanced parole; Family Reunification; Family-based immigration; Complex naturalization; and Family Guardianship. The attorney will also be expected to conduct outreach and trainings to the community in accordance with grant requirements. The position is funded by the State of New York under contracts through the Office of New Americans and/or other funders and presents a unique opportunity to join a collaborative office working to provide high-quality immigration legal services throughout an 18 county region of Upstate New York. Qualifications: Admission or pending admission to the Bar of any US state or territory. Strong written and oral advocacy skills. Commitment to helping people in need. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Diverse economic, social, and/or cultural experiences.
Salary: $80,500 to $105,018 annually for attorneys admitted to the Bar of any US state or territory, depending on candidate qualifications and experience. Law graduates eligible for a practice order and pending admission start at $70,500 and will receive a $10,000 increase upon admission.

Work-Life Balance: Enjoy standard office hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, and from Memorial Day until Labor Day staff can frequently take advantage of summer hours and leave at 4:00 pm.
