About the Position: HLA seeks both experienced and newly or soon-to-be licensed attorneys to join our family law practice in either our Family Court Program or Civil Program. Both programs represent adults in custody and visitation, family offense, and support and paternity cases in Onondaga County courts. The Family Court Program also represents adults in abuse and neglect cases while the Civil Program handles divorce and matrimonial matters. We provide compassionate, client-centered legal services and guide clients through some of life’s most challenging moments with professionalism and care. Our attorneys are collaborative and supportive and enjoy strong supervision, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Qualifications: Admission or pending admission to New York Bar. Strong written and oral advocacy skills. Commitment to helping people in need. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Salary: Base salary of $80,500 to $105,018 annually for all attorneys admitted to New York Bar depending on candidate qualifications and experience, and lawyers in the Family Court Program receive an additional $5,000 annual stipend in addition to their base salary. Law graduates awaiting admission to the Bar and eligible for a practice order start at $70,500 and receive a $10,000 increase upon admission.

Work-Life Balance: Enjoy standard office hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, and from Memorial Day until Labor Day staff can frequently take advantage of summer hours and leave at 4:00 pm.
