Position Description: 

The Oklahoma Indigent Defense System (OIDS) is a state agency responsible for implementing the Indigent Defense Act by providing trial, appellate and post-conviction criminal defense services to persons who have been judicially determined to be entitled to legal counsel.

OIDS is currently seeking a full-time Deputy Division Chief in our Non-Capital Trial Division. Cleveland County office.

Basic Purpose
Deputy Division Chief is responsible for Management, Administrative and Supervisory duties of the satellite office. This may include representation of indigent individuals in state court at the trial level in felony, misdemeanor, juvenile delinquency, traffic and wildlife cases; also responsible for providing our clients with competent legal advice and zealous advocacy at every phase of the criminal trial process.

Level Descriptor
Positions will be filled at Levels I - III, depending on candidate experience.

Requirements: 

Applicants must possess a Juris Doctorate degree, active membership and good standing with the State Bar of Oklahoma.
