The Position: We’re looking for two attorneys. One to be based in MLSA’s Helena office and the other to be based in Red Lodge.
• MLSA offers company-paid health, dental, vision and life insurance; a 403(b) retirement plan; and eligibility for a health reimbursement (HRA) or health savings account (HSA). MLSA contributes $1,250 to employees each year for an HRA or HSA.
• MLSA is a Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) organization and additionally, attorney staff can be eligible for up to three separate Loan Repayment Assistance programs run through the Legal Services Corporation, Montana Justice Foundation, and MLSA. That could amount to an additional $5k-$12k of money to go directly towards loan repayment
• We also offer a generous paid leave package, including three weeks per year of annual leave, personal leave, paid sick leave, and a wellness leave program.
• And if you move from another town in Montana to join us, we offer up to $500 for relocation reimbursement (or $1,000 if you move from out of state).

1. Law degree and current license to practice law in Montana is preferred. We will consider applicants with the ability to waive in with a qualifying UBE score, or a willingness to take and pass the next Montana Bar Exam.
2. Prior legal services experience, working low income clients,or prior experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, preferred.
3. Knowledge of substantive legal areas affecting domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, including, but not limited to, Orders of Protection, dissolution's, parenting plans, and other family law matters.
4. Ability to effectively communicate, to motivate others, and to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people with varying perspectives and experience.
