The Anchorage Criminal Section of the Office of Public Advocacy is seeking a lawyer to fill a long-term non-permanent position. This position starts off doing bail hearings, change of pleas, arraignments and parole hearings. There are opportunities to second chair misdemeanors and serious felonies. As the individual grows in the position more responsibility can be taken on.
This position typically leads to a staff position when one becomes available if the individual shows the aptitude for this profession. A Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited university is required, as well as bar licensure in Alaska or the ability to become licensed through reciprocity.
