Position Description: 

THE POSITION: Under direction, assists in obtaining, preserving and recording any evidence for the defense of individuals who are represented by the Public Defender's Office and are charged with felonies and/or misdemeanors.

• $23.88 to $24.87 per hour depending on experience

Requirements: 

DO YOU QUALIFY?
• Do you have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or a minimum of 36 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience?
• Do you possess or have the ability to possess a driver’s license and be insurable?
• Are you able to work on call and be available evenings, weekends and nights?

• Do you want to serve as a resource for the Public Defender’s Office? The Office serves to provide effective representation to indigent persons in serious criminal, mental health, juvenile and abuse/neglect cases within Kootenai County
• Do you have a working to thorough knowledge of modern techniques and practices of criminal investigation including:
o Substantive and procedural Idaho criminal laws
o Court procedures
o Techniques of interviewing and interrogation
o Scientific and investigative equipment and analysis
o Idaho Penal Code
o Functions and extent of authority of the Public Defender’s Office
