THE WASHOE COUNTY PUBLIC DEFENDER’S OFFICE is accepting applications for a Deputy Public Defender in the Criminal and/or Family division of the office. Attorneys in the Criminal Division represent clients at all stages of criminal proceedings with an emphasis on holistic defense. The Family court position will be representing parents whose children have been removed from the custody and/or control of those parents. Successful candidates will have clearly demonstrated an aptitude for excellence in criminal defense practice, a commitment to the representation of indigent accused persons, a reputation for personal integrity, and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada or eligible for immediate admission to the Nevada bar. Training provided in a team-based atmosphere. Salary range, depending on experience, is $73,840 – $143,374 and comes with excellent benefits including health insurance, paid vacation, and sick leave. Office is based in Reno, NV at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and within one hour of beautiful Lake Tahoe.
