Position Description:

Catholic Charities is seeking a full-time, volunteer and pro bono coordinator to join our energetic and passionate team. This is a hybrid position, and all CC Agency Staff are expected to go into the office 2 days a week.

Essential Functions of the position are detailed below, and include any physical requirements below that.
1. Primarily responsible for the coordination of CCLA's Volunteer and Pro Bono services, and for all administrative tasks related to CCLA's Volunteer and Pro Bono Services. Responsibilities include project management and organizing activities related to the recruitment and the training of volunteers, staffing and preparing materials for CCLA's legal clinics and advice desks and assists with the grant application process;
2. Functions as a Staff Attorney and represents CCLA clients in court as well as at various regulatory and other legal forums. Also represents CCLA at seminars at various Catholic Charities locations and partner agency sites throughout Cook and Lake County as needed by the Department;
3 Responsible for coordinating trainings, including continuing legal education trainings for volunteers;
4. Responsible for assigning work to Volunteers and Pro Bono Attorneys and ensuring the work is performed in an efficient, prompt, professional and accurate manner and provides guidance, when necessary;
5. Maintains up-to-date and accurate departmental and client files, calendars and databases, as required by agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing or accrediting bodies and tracks and monitors volunteer related CCLA activities;
6. Handles all client and volunteer complaints as well as crisis situations in consultation with his/her supervisory chain, in compliance with Agency/Programmatic policies and procedures and treats each case with sensitivity and expedience;
7. Knows and complies with the laws and regulations relevant to the position and services;
8. Particpates in the Performance Quality Improvement process by performing quality control case reviews for volunteers and pro bono attorneys;
9. Responsible for collecting, updating and submitting routine and ad-hoc reports. as necessary;
10. Completes special projects, as assigned.

Requirements: 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
· Minimum 5 years’ of experience with emphasis on Family Law and/or Housing law litigation.
· Bilingual Spanish highly desirable, but not required.
· Current license to practice law in good standing in the State of Illinois.
· Excellent organizational, writing, and time management skills.
· Effective and professional oral communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and initiatives.
· Strong work ethic and able to work under minimal supervision.
· Must have reliable transportation for local travel throughout Lake County and as needed in Cook County.
· Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
