Staff Attorney - Las Vegas

Nevada Legal Services is the federally funded Legal Services Corporation for the state of Nevada. We are dedicated to providing legal help to low-income people across Nevada. The Las Vegas office focuses on: federally subsidized housing terminations and evictions, fair housing issues, unemployment insurance benefits, Social Security disability, welfare, limited family law, limited consumer issues, and immigration (VAWA and U Visa).
NLS Las Vegas seeks a full-time staff attorney in the Las Vegas Office. Staff attorneys provide direct representation of low income clients in a variety of substantive areas. As our office does not divide our practice into specialties, staff attorneys acquire substantive knowledge and experience across a wide variety of poverty law issues. Our client population is diverse and sometimes challenging, but the work is both interesting and rewarding.
Applicant must have a demonstrated interest and commitment to poverty law. Applicants who are barred elsewhere do not need to take the Nevada bar to practice in Nevada while they are employed with our organization. We are willing to consider outstanding candidates who have not yet taken the bar, but are willing to commit to taking the Nevada Bar. Experience in grant writing or website management is a plus.

This is a full-time position which requires 37.5 hours of work per week.
