The law firm of Hunton Andrews Kurth seeks qualified individuals for a pro bono fellowship position in our Richmond office to be filled in the fall of 2020. Applicants should be motivated toward a career in public interest law. The position will involve representing clients for the firm’s Church Hill neighborhood pro bono office in Richmond and representation of clients at the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society (CVLAS) in Richmond, Virginia. While the substantial portion of legal work will be performed for CVLAS, it is expected that this lawyer will be fully integrated into Hunton Andrews Kurth, with all the normal opportunities available for legal training, associate development, and social participation.
Term of Employment: Two year program (September 2020 to December 2022)
Location: Offices of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, Richmond, Virginia, and the CVLAS office
Allocation of Time: Approximately 25-30% devoted to Church Hill clients and 70-75% devoted to CVLAS clients
Reporting: Assigned to Hunton Andrews Kurth Litigation Team, reporting to a Litigation Team partner, with periodic evaluations submitted by the CVLAS Executive Director
Compensation: Salary compares favorably with the entry level for legal aid staff attorneys; standard Hunton Andrews Kurth associate benefits
