Deputy Director

Position Description: The Deputy Director will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of legal work across all ILS offices. The Deputy Director will be responsible for creating and implementing policies, procedures, training, and technology to accomplish the consistent delivery of high-quality legal services to all clients of ILS. The position is FLSA exempt and full-time. The position reports to the Executive Director.

Duties and responsibilities include:
• Ensure consistent, high-quality, client-centered services across offices through legal work standards, case acceptance policies, and other available tools.
• Supervise legal and management work of managing attorneys, including case and performance reviews.
• Serve as a resource to support all ILS managers on compliance and management issues.
• Develop and implement ILS initiatives, policies and procedures to enhance program services, productivity, and effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with all LSC regulations, guidelines and recommendations, including by monitoring outcomes, outputs, and performance.
• With the Director of Advocacy, train staff regarding ILS policies and LSC requirements and respond to questions from all staff on these matters.
• With the Technology Director, enhance the integration of technology into legal work and train staff regarding its use.
• Provide support to and perform such other tasks assigned by the Executive Director.

Indiana Legal Services is headquartered in Indianapolis, but this position may be located in any ILS office including Merrillville, South Bend, Fort Wayne, Lafayette, Bloomington, New Albany or Evansville. Current incumbent is in South Bend.
