To highlight just how valuable legal aid attorneys are in rural communities, NLADA photojournalism fellow Michael Santiago visited with the dedicated attorneys at the Southwest Virginia Legal Aid Society (SVLAS). While there, he met Albert Blair II, and heard firsthand how legal aid attorneys managed to save him from losing his home.
