As a Navajo Public Defender, you will defend the civil and Fundamental rights of indigent Navajos in the largest indigenous court system in North America. You will have ample opportunities to develop your strategic and tactical trial toolbox as you represent adults and juveniles in all types of criminal and delinquency proceedings from arraignment to appeal. You will work closely with individual clients and superb colleagues to optimize your service to this unique community. Indigent Navajos face fierce odds; they deserve fierce lawyers.

Requirements: 

Senior Attorney, J.D.: Four or more years experience, state bar license in good standing, must become barred in either NM, AZ, or UT within one year of hire, and must pass the Navajo Nation Bar within one year of hire. Open Until filled.
Staff Attorney, J.D.: state bar license in good standing, must become barred in either NM, AZ, or UT within one year of hire, and must pass the Navajo Nation Bar within one year of hire.
