NMCLP seeks a Team Director or Supervising Attorney to address hunger and strengthen public assistance programs for children and families in New Mexico, including SNAP, TANF, childcare assistance, and Medicaid. This position will lead the Public Benefits Team’s work with community and family leaders to increase access to income, food, and other basic needs for New Mexicans. This includes improving program awareness and outreach, simplifying rules and application systems, removing barriers impacting immigrant, tribal and other communities, and responding to federal policy changes. This position will provide legislative and administrative advocacy, community outreach, know your rights education, and coalition-building; and legal representation and impact litigation. While the team’s primary focus is public benefits, there is opportunity to advocate on a broad variety of legal and policy issues that are priorities for our communities. Required: Law degree and 5 years experience for Team Director; law degree and 3 years experience for a Supervising Attorney; Demonstrated ability to lead teams, facilitate productive discussions and decision-making processes, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and partners to advance priorities.
