Job Description:

The Oklahoma Indigent Defense System (OIDS) is a state agency responsible for implementing the Indigent Defense Act by providing trial, appellate and post-conviction criminal defense services to persons who have been judicially determined to be entitled to legal counsel.

The Assistant Finance Officer provides support to the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System Executive/Finance Division, located in Norman. The ideal candidate will be highly organized; detail oriented; customer oriented, including internal customers; self-motivated with the ability to respond to changing priorities, meet tight deadlines with quick turnarounds and work collaboratively; proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Sign, and ERP platforms such as PeopleSoft.

Basic Purpose:

Assistant Finance Officer will assist in responsibilities related to purchasing, accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and all other aspects of fiscal management for the agency.

Job duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

Reviewing and approving purchase request.
Preparing ePros, purchasing orders, and change orders within PeopleSoft.
Managing various service contracts.
Holding an agency procurement card and making purchases in accordance with purchasing rules.
Editing procurement card purchases within Works.
Reviewing AP invoices against the contract to verify validity.
Travel arrangements for various divisions within the agency.
Other duties, as assigned.
Education and Experience:

This position requires a Certified Procurement Officer certification from the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES). Preference will be given to candidates who already possess this certification.

Level Descriptor:

Positions may be filled at Levels I - IV, depending on candidate experience.
