Legal Aid of Western Ohio, a non-profit regional law firm that provides high-quality legal assistance to low-income persons and groups in western Ohio, seeks a dynamic, innovative temporary attorney to be located in its Lima office. This position is expected to last approximately six months. This position will focus on representing Domestic Violence survivors, including providing holistic representation and working closely with community-based partners, and assisting clients experiencing issues with their Housing, including eviction defense and other advocacy efforts to prevent homelessness and improve family stability. Salary depends on experience. Excellent fringe benefits.
Excellent legal and communication skills; experience with computer software and Microsoft Office; ability to relate well with low income clients; and commitment to legal services required. Previous experience in areas of domestic violence, family law, landlord tenant or poverty law in general is highly preferred. The attorney will work out of our Lima office. Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish is helpful. Membership in Ohio Bar or ability to be admitted by motion or temporary certification is required.
