Position Announcement
The Equal Justice Works Crime Justice Corps Legal Fellowship is a two-year position beginning on June 1, 2018 through May 30, 2020. This is a full-time position with full benefits. Application deadline is Friday, May 18, 2018

Organization Overview
Program for Aid to Victims of Sexual Assault (PAVSA) was established in 1975 in response to the need for victim-centered, victim-driven ongoing advocacy and support for victims and survivors of sexual assault. Since that time, PAVSA has grown to become a valued community resource with positive working relationships within the criminal justice and legal systems, local hospitals, schools and universities, as well as other nonprofits that serve vulnerable, and diverse populations and at-risk youth. All services are free, confidential, and available to all victim/survivors of sexual violence, including legal services offered through PAVSA’s Zenith Law Center.

Position Description
• The individual serving as an Equal Justice Works Crime Victims Justice Corps Fellow will primarily work with victim/survivors of human trafficking by providing a broad range of civil legal services to clients
• Provide crime victims’ rights enforcement
• Conduct outreach and educational activities to include referrals to other community resources
• Comply with all data collection and reporting requirements
• Work collaboratively with other Equal Justice Works fellows, staff, and community partners
• Participate in mandatory in-person training, including the two-day Crime Victims Justice Corps Victim Law Boot Camp June 28-29, 2018 in Washington, DC, as well as the annual three-day Equal Justice Works Leadership Development Training in October/November 2018 and 2019
• Must be willing to complete PAVSA's 40-hour sexual assault advocacy training advocates soon as possible

Requirements: 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• Licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota and federal court
• A commitment to public service and to providing victim-centered, victim-driven, trauma-informed work to diverse, marginalized, and underserved populations
• Strong writing, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work collectively and collaboratively in a variety of contexts and with multiple organizations to provide comprehensive services to victims and survivors of sexual violence
• Relevant experience working with people who have experienced trafficking , experience serving survivors of other forms of violence, working with vulnerable or hard to serve populations, or public interest or poverty law experience desired
