Description: For over 40 years, Bet Tzedek Legal Services has provided high-quality, free legal services to our community’s most vulnerable residents, including survivors of the Holocaust. Through our ground-breaking Holocaust Survivors Justice Network (HSJN), law firms and social service agencies throughout the United States have provided pro bono assistance to survivors seeking reparations payments from Germany and other European countries. The work, based on trainings and advice provided by Bet Tzedek, has resulted in survivors receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in reparations payments. Bet Tzedek seeks a self-starter who will help the organization solidify and expand this national network of volunteers in order to expand the network’s scope to include elder law services such as assistance with US federal public benefits, advance health care directives, wills, and other advance planning issues. This dynamic, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual will help coordinate the network by recruiting volunteers for this new initiative, disseminating trainings and technical assistance to volunteers, organizing and maintaining network members, and helping collect client and outcome data from volunteers. The position will necessarily require extensive travel.
