Position and Responsibilities: The newly created accounting position (accountant) is an excellent opportunity to join a team of highly motivated professionals dedicated to BayLegal's mission. The ideal candidate will have fund accounting experience preferably in MIP (Abila) non-profit accounting software applications. The accountant will perform complete accounting functions, including A/P processing, payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries preparation, and general ledger accounting and analysis. Responsibilities will also include grants billing and providing support to the accounting manager. As directed, the accountant will prepare monthly billing for grants, prepare reports to funders, and maintain grants folders.

Requirements: 

About the Successful Candidate:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of five years of non-profit work experience
• Ability to work with complex excel worksheets
• Solid understanding of GAAP and fund accounting
• Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
• Strong organizational, language, and communication skills
• Experience in grants billing and use of MIP (Abila) software, preferred
• Experience with fund accounting, preferably in MIP (Abila) non-profit accounting software applications
