The Office of Public Advocacy is currently hiring a trial attorney for the Fairbanks Defense Section. Trial attorneys provide court-appointed legal representation for indigent individuals charged with crimes. Attorneys also represent parents and children in Children in Need of Aid cases and juveniles in delinquency proceedings.
Applicants must possess the ability to analyze complex fact patterns, independently research and write legal briefs, and advocate orally in court. Applicants must be admitted in Alaska or have the ability to become licensed through the Alaska Bar exam or by reciprocity.
