Position Description: 

Laramie County Community Partnership, Inc. (LCCP) is a Cheyenne, Wyoming public interest organization dedicated to improving community health. Through our Medical-Legal Partnership, we deliver health-impacting legal assistance to vulnerable patients referred by area hospitals and health centers. LCCP is recruiting a qualified attorney to help crime victims resolve emergency legal matters and address other legal problems resulting from victimization. The hired attorney will work closely with Southeast Wyoming healthcare and social services organizations to identify and assist survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, elder abuse, and other crimes.

Job Duties: The attorney will be responsible for a range of program activities, including but not limited to:
• Conduct outreach, provide training, and develop screening tools in collaboration with healthcare and social services organizations;
• Implement client referral procedures to ensure crime victims receive safe and timely access to legal services;
• Represent crime victims in emergency legal matters including protection order and emergency custody proceedings;
• Assist crime victims with a range of civil legal problems resulting from victimization, potentially including family law (divorce, custody, and support), housing, employment, consumer/debt, public benefits, immigration, and other matters;
• Work collaboratively with other advocates to improve the community’s response to domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, elder abuse, and other crimes;
• Utilize case management and timekeeping systems and comply with all applicable regulatory requirements and reporting needs, including preparation of grant reports;
• Work with LCCP’s Medical-Legal Partnership Attorney on strategies for development and expansion of Medical-Legal Partnership efforts in Wyoming.

Requirements: 

Qualifications:
• J.D. from an accredited law school;
• Admission to the Wyoming State Bar (or eligibility for admission by motion/transfer);
• Demonstrated commitment to public interest legal work;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

$48,000 - $54,000
