GHLA is seeking a staff attorney to deliver immigration legal services.
Assignments will include:
-Preparing and submitting applications, legal briefs, and supporting documentation for cases involving U visas, Self-petitions, and Adjustment of Status applications with applicable waivers, Asylum relief under the Convention Against Torture, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status; and
-Directly representing individuals before USCIS: and
-Participating in systemic advocacy efforts on behalf of immigrants as appropriate.
1) Admitted and in good standing with a state bar, CT Bar preferred, but not required;
2) Fluency in oral and written Spanish is required;
3) 5-7 years of experience carrying a significant caseload and providing legal representation to non-citizens before United States Citizenship & Immigration Services.
