Position Description: 

ACS has an immediate new opening for an Assistant or Associate Director of Network Advancement to help coordinate pro bono and strategic volunteer opportunities among our growing national network of lawyers, law students, scholars, judges and policymakers in cities across the country and support the overall work of the Department of Network Advancement. This position can be remote or in our national office in Washington, DC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant or Associate Director of Network Advancement will:
Coordinate volunteer recruitment, orientation, and recognition;
Work with colleagues to identify opportunities for new pro bono and other volunteer projects and implement them;
Integrate volunteer activities and members into ACS’s various substantive initiatives and chapters;
Assist lawyer chapter team in developing and planning signature events to raise money and to raise ACS's profile and broaden its impact in key legal markets around the country;
Develop and direct publicity for the various opportunities;
Develop materials and guidance as necessary;
Create and implement a system to track opportunities and participation;
Facilitate outreach to members and outside organizations;
Work with colleagues to ensure career-long engagement of young lawyers and law students with the ACS network;
Help coordinate the participation of network members with ACS special projects and career opportunities; and
Other duties as may be assigned from time to time within the overall department.

Requirements: 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess many of the following qualifications and personal attributes:
Campaign or other organizing experience
Previous non-profit work experience and/or work or volunteer experience with coalitions
Would do anything for a networking opportunity (loves it, loves it, loves it!)
Details are your friends
Ability to absorb information about several moving parts
Works equally well with millennials, law students, new and seasoned lawyers, scholars, judges and public officials
Event planning and/or fundraising experience
Excellent writing skills
Thrives in an outcome-driven work culture
Knowledge of current legal and public policy issues and needs
Some travel for meetings and events is required
JD and 2+ years of post-law school experience
Social media, HTML, Excel and Salesforce experience are a plus
