NLADA to Honor 40 Firms with the 2024 Beacon of Justice Award

Washington, D.C. (April 17, 2024) – The National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) is pleased to announce that 40 firms will be honored with the 2024 Beacon of Justice Award. Each honoree is being recognized for their efforts to address issues related to civil & human rights. 

 “Recognizing the outstanding efforts of these law firms is a true joy for us. Collectively, they have been champions for civil and human rights on a global scale. When businesses speak up, the world pays attention. And when they act, the world follows suit,” said NLADA President & CEO April Frazier Camara.

The 2024 Beacon of Justice honorees have demonstrated an understanding of the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, gender, religion, sexual orientation and other characteristics that may create interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage. Our honorees have worked to address these complex challenges in their pro bono practice. 

These firms are vital partners in the NLADA community’s endeavor to elevate equity and justice. The Beacon of Justice awardees will be celebrated at the 2024 NLADA Exemplar Awards Gala on June 6.  

The 40 firms will be honored along with 2024 NLADA Exemplar Award Honoree David Zapolsky, SVP of Global Public Policy and General Counsel at Amazon.
