Defender Research Library

NLADA’s Defender Research Library is a compilation of over 600 reports and articles relevant to issues around indigent defense. Users can browse, search, and/or filter by topic, author, publisher, and geographic area. Each resource includes an abstract and a citation. In many cases, the record also includes a direct link to the resource online. Due to copyright restrictions, full text of research indexed on this site is not directly available. Others can be found via Westlaw, Lexis Nexis, HeinOnline, and academic online libraries. The Defender Research Library is a work in progress and will be updated periodically to reflect the most comprehensive and up-to-date resources.

NLADA is immensely grateful to the Open Society Foundations for their generous funding of the Defender Research Library. We would also like to thank the American University Justice Programs OfficeThe Constitution Project, and the National Right to Counsel Committee for their editorial contributions to this project.
