Position Description: 

The Oklahoma Indigent Defense System (OIDS) is a state agency responsible for implementing the Indigent Defense Act by providing trial, appellate and post-conviction criminal defense services to persons who have been judicially determined to be entitled to legal counsel.

The Assistant Finance Officer provides support to the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System Executive/Finance Division, located in Norman. The ideal candidate will be highly organized; detail oriented; customer oriented; self-motivated with the ability to respond to changing priorities, meet deadlines and work collaboratively; proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and ERP platforms.

Basic Purpose
Assistant Finance Officer will assist in responsibilities related to purchasing, accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and all other aspects of fiscal management for the agency.

Job duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

Preparing ePro, purchasing orders, and change orders.

Managing contracts.

Holding an agency procurement card and making purchases in accordance with purchasing rules.

Entering expense vouchers and invoices.

Other duties, as assigned.

Level Descriptor
Positions may be filled at Levels I - IV, depending on candidate experience.

Education and Experience
This position requires a Certified Procurement Officer certification from the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES). Preference may be given to candidates who already possess this certification.
