Position Description: 

Legal Aid seeks a full-time staff attorney for its Housing Plus Unit at our Central Office in Kansas City, Missouri. The unit primarily assists low-income clients in subsidized housing matters and private landlord-tenant disputes, including evictions, notices to vacate, housing conditions, discrimination, and other rental housing matters. The attorney in this position will represent clients in administrative, judicial, and legislative forums, as needed.

Salary: $50,310 plus, DOE

Requirements: 

This position requires excellent writing skills, attention to detail, work ethic, computer proficiency, and a desire and commitment to deliver high quality legal assistance to low-income people. Candidates must be members of the Missouri Bar or eligible for licensure in Missouri through reciprocity. Experience handling housing cases is preferred, but not required.
