Position Description: 

Virginia Poverty Law Center (VPLC) is the statewide legal services support nonprofit for the local legal aid offices in Virginia. We use advocacy, education, and litigation to break down systemic barriers that keep low-income Virginians in the cycle of poverty. We are seeking a Community Education and Outreach Fellow to join our Housing Team.

Requirements: 

This second Equal Justice Fellow should have organizing and/or community outreach experience. The Community Education and Outreach Fellow will coordinate community education and legal clinics on housing with local legal aids and other partners. This fellow will work with community organizers throughout the state to develop tenant-friendly state and local policies. This fellow will also do outreach and organizing in central Virginia and other parts of the state where eviction rates are disproportionately high. Excellent benefits, including generous paid leave and health insurance. Salary $48,000 annually or higher DOE.
