TEMPORARY STAFF ATTORNEY—IMMIGRATION LAW
Central West Justice Center (CWJC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Community Legal Aid, seeks a staff attorney to provide legal assistance in immigration law matters, including but not limited to VAWA petitions, U visas, SIJS petitions, asylum cases, and removal defense cases. This is a one-year grant-funded position with the possibility of extension. The attorney will also engage in community outreach and education. The attorney will be based in Western Mass. Some grant-reporting will be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Admission to Mass. Bar or eligible to sit for next Mass. Bar examination or entitled to practice under a Mass. practice rule required
• Access to reliable transportation
• Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred
• Prior experience in immigration law strongly preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative setting are important
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse communities is important
