The Rutgers Domestic Violence Clinic (DVC) at Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey is seeking to hire a part-time attorney to begin immediately. The title of this position is Staff Attorney (part-time) and the attorney will represent survivors of domestic violence in civil restraining order proceedings and related matters. The attorney will also provide advice, counsel and advocacy to survivors in related criminal proceedings where survivors are complaining witnesses. The attorney may also serve victims of sexual assault. The Staff Attorney (part-time) may appear in Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem before the New Jersey Superior Court, Chancery Division, Family Part.
Candidates for the position must be licensed attorneys in good standing admitted to practice in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in family law including domestic violence law, experience working with crime victims, and excellent oral and written communication skills. The Staff Attorney (part-time) will be based at Rutgers Law School in Camden. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are also required.
