Position Description: 

The Farmworker Rights Division of Georgia Legal Services seeks a full-time senior attorney for immediate hire.
The Farmworker Rights Division
Based in the Atlanta office of Georgia Legal Services Program, the Farmworker Rights Division represents migrant and seasonal farmworkers in employment and civil rights cases across the state. Nationally recognized for its high–quality advocacy, our litigation focuses on wages, working conditions and discrimination on Georgia farms.
We practice primarily in the federal courts to secure our clients’ rights under the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Agricultural Worker Protection Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the regulatory provisions of the H-2A agricultural worker visa program, and other state and federal laws.

Requirements: 

The senior attorney is expected to develop and manage a caseload, co-counsel with Division attorneys or outside counsel, and supervise the legal work and administrative duties of three project attorneys, two paralegals, law student interns and volunteers. Supervisory oversight includes mentoring less experienced staff, providing stretch opportunities, and motivating staff to provide the highest quality legal services in accordance with GLSP program guidelines, the ABA Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services and the Code of Professional Responsibility.
The successful applicant will have five years minimum legal experience, with three years minimum federal court litigation experience, preferably representing low-wage workers; Admitted to practice law in Georgia or qualify for reciprocity; Demonstrated commitment to working with low-income clients and LEP clients; Excellent written and verbal communication; Ability to meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail; Good people skills and the ability to maintain positive relations with a diverse population; Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

Compensation
Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Georgia Legal Services provides excellent vacation and benefits package, including partial law school loan repayment assistance.
