Conferences
Every year NLADA organizes two major conferences that bring together people from across the country to share expertise and find better ways to advance justice. Taking place each spring is Equal Justice Conference, which is co-sponsored by the American Bar Association; taking place each fall is NLADA Annual Conference.
The Equal Justice Conference joins all components of the civil legal aid community to discuss and address issues related to the delivery of legal services to low-income individuals in need of legal assistance. Inspiring keynote speakers, multiple networking opportunities, more than 85 CLE sessions, and a wide selection of low or no cost preconference programs are just some reasons not to miss this year's Equal Justice Conference.
The Holistic Defense & Leadership Conferences bring together the public defense community to explore better ways to provide holistic defense services to low-income people who encounter the criminal justice system. Highlights include Discussion/Innovation Labs, networking dinners, and more!
This conference is designed for those who participate in setting the advocacy agenda and leading its implementation, as well as those taking on new leadership roles, in their civil legal aid or civil rights organization. The gathering provides a not-to-be-missed opportunity for emerging leaders and managing attorneys, in addition to experienced advocacy directors, senior litigators and policy analysts to learn and share cutting-edge advocacy strategies, explore trends affecting low-income people and discuss effective planning and leadership of litigation and advocacy.
