The Shared Parenting Program (SPP) Coordinator performs advanced professional administrative work for the Office of the Attorney General Child Support Division – Family Initiatives. Duties include planning, developing and implementing major projects focused specifically on increasing the time and quality of interactions non-custodial parents have with their children, development of program priorities, contract management and contract administration with community and faith-based organizations and local government.

Manages the Texas Shared Parenting program (SPP) by planning and implementing activities to enhance this on-going program designed to increase the amount and quality of interactions that non-custodial parents have with their children and improve the quality of the co- or shared-parenting relationship that both parents have with each other.
Leads the development and planning of special shared parenting activities within local child support field units; develops and reviews public education materials; identifies successful dissemination strategies and expansion of referral resources available to local child support unit staff and the public; facilitates community partnerships between Access and Visitation providers and child support field units, and increase access to shared parenting resources within the IV-D courts. Maintains communication between all project partners, monitors program progress, identifies implementation risks, and addresses evaluation needs and findings; communicates with the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement and ensures that all reporting requirements are met
Identifies cost/benefits and processes for program implementation in additional sites; serves as contract manager and contract administrator over the SPP contracts and coordinates with contract operations and grants administration to address contract and grant issues; prepares annual federal application.
Identifies and develops innovative ideas to enhance the overall Shared Parenting Program; designs and implements appropriate evaluation resources for SPP activities by working closely with outside evaluation contractors, developing internal evaluation tools and capacity, drafting evaluation reports and recommendations for program improvement and expansion. Identifies funding needs and resources – both within the IV-D program and with other public and private funding sources – required for implementation and expansion of access and visitation/shared parenting program services within the State of Texas; drafts funding proposals and identifies potential community and faith based organization partners appropriate for participation in expanded shared parenting program services.
Performs related work as assigned.
Maintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions.

Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity.


Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; may substitute full-time program services coordination, grant management, or closely related experience for the required education on a year-for-year basis
Experience: 8 additional years of full-time program services coordination, grant management, or closely related experience
Experience giving educational presentations to the public; must be prepared to conduct a presentation at the time of interview
Experience working under limited supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment
Knowledge and experience operating a computer using databases, spreadsheets and word processing software
Experience working with faith and community based organizations
Experience managing multiple site projects
Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
Skill in effective oral and written communication
Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
