Position Description: 

Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida’s Fair Housing Initiative Program (FHIP) is seeking a Fair Housing Testing Coordinator/Advocate based in our Orlando office. The program is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) FHIP grants. Duration of this position is dependent on grant funding availability.

The program investigates alleged housing discrimination in an effort to combat and diminish housing discrimination under the Fair Housing Act. The Fair Housing Testing Coordinator/Advocate will be directly supervised by the Fair Housing Program Manager. The testing coordinator/advocate is directly responsible for our testing program, attends community outreach events, and conducts educational workshops on housing discrimination. Must possess polished public presentation skills with the ability to perform duties and attend meetings and/or other functions throughout 12 county service area.

Requirements: 

Minimum of one-year functional experience working with low-income and/or vulnerable clients and communities on civil legal matters. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. The successful candidate will have a highly approachable presentation, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to effectively and consistently engage a diverse constituency while managing a full caseload. Demonstrate a professional commitment to improving CLSMF’s presence in the regions we serve. Must possess excellent legal and community partnership skills and be computer literate (Microsoft Office 365). Valid Florida automobile license, use of own auto, and proof of insurance necessary.
