Heart of Florida Legal Aid Society, Inc. (HOFLA) provides free civil legal aid services to low-income Florida residents of Polk, Hardee, and Highlands counties in family law and immigration matters. Our case priorities are family law and immigration cases with a focus on survivors of domestic violence and violent crimes. Our main office is located in Bartow, FL and our second office is in Sebring, FL.
HOFLA seeks a bilingual Spanish-speaking family law attorney to work in our Bartow office. Family Law attorneys are responsible for the delivery of high-quality legal services in accordance with the mission and priorities of the program, the Florida Rules of Professional Conduct, and the ABA Standards for the Provision of Civil Legal Aid. You will perform a range of duties including filing legal documents, attending court proceedings,participating in mediation sessions, and offering useful advice to clients. To excel in this role, the successful candidate will be an exceptional listener and communicator with excellent negotiating skills. All candidates must have the ability to successfully manage a high volume of clients and meet HOFLA’s required deliverables and outcomes.
Our civil legal aid law firm provides health insurance, sick days, and vacation time after a probationary period. Paid trainings are also provided. The atmosphere of the firm is fast-paced and requires a person with a team-player attitude.
Salary Ranges from $45K to $50K and may be negotiable depending on experience. Student loan repayment assistance (LRAP) of up to $5,000 annually may also be available from the Florida Bar Foundation.

Successful candidates must be bilingual and be able to communicate with Spanish speaking clients.
