Job type:

Position Description:

Want to join a great team of people working to protect courageous immigrant women and girls? The Tahirih Justice Center is looking for a detail-oriented finance manager with experience managing government grants. This position is new in response to a growing portfolio of federal, state and local grants that support work in our five offices nationwide. You’ll report to the Director of Finance and communicate frequently with attorneys and social workers who serve clients from all over the world. Responsibilities of the job include consulting with colleagues on grant-related financial issues; communicating with program officers to gather information; preparing budgets and grant adjustment notices; preparing and submitting reports to meet monthly, quarterly and annual compliance requirements; supporting the annual financial audit; and ensuring Tahirih fully leverages grant resources to serve women and girls fleeing violence. You could be ideal for the job if you have three to five years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities. You may need to travel a couple of times a year to meet with colleagues in other offices.

Tahirih offers a family-friendly, flexible work environment with competitive compensation. Our generous benefits include fully-paid employee health, vision and dental insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan; and self-managed paid time off in addition to time off on all federal holidays and an additional week off between December 25 and January 2 each year.

About the Tahirih Justice Center: We’re a national nonprofit that supports courageous immigrant women and girls who refuse to be victims of human rights abuses such as rape, domestic violence, sexual assault, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, honor crimes, and human trafficking. Through free legal and social services, bridge-building policy advocacy, and research-based training and education, we elevate the voices of our clients in communities, courts, and Congress. A Bahá’í-inspired organization, Tahirih works to create a world where women and girls can live in safety and with dignity. Our 85 employees speak more than 15 languages and work from offices in Atlanta, Baltimore, the Greater DC area, Houston, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
