Position Description:

This is a very hands on job supervised by experienced public interest lawyers. We are serious about the responsibility to make this an educational experience for our interns. This ten week internship starts with four days of substantive and skills training so that you can represent low income clients in eviction cases. We have weekly review meetings, all correspondence is reviewed by a former English teacher, there are field trips to local courtrooms and you will work in teams with other interns to represent clients. Community outreach is an important part of the summer--students participate in a Gallery Crawl where NLSA is the only law firm brave/foolish enough to open its doors and present a legal topic in an entertaining way.

Students work in the downtown Pittsburgh office of NLSA.
