Organization: Bay Area Legal Aid (BayLegal) ensures fairness in the civil justice system for the most vulnerable members of our community. Position: We seek a culturally sensitive attorney with a strong commitment to public interest and social justice advocacy to become the Regional Managing Attorney of our Youth Justice Unit. The Youth Regional Managing Attorney, with the assistance of a Supervising Attorney, is responsible for the supervision of the legal work and personnel issues of all attorneys and advocates in the unit, along with overall effectiveness and quality of the client services and for directing the strategic policy advocacy and litigation.

Responsibilities: As a member of BayLegal's senior management team, the Youth Regional Managing Attorney reports to the Director of Program & Advocacy. The Youth Regional Managing Attorney is responsible for developing and implementing the vision and direction of the Youth Justice work at BayLegal. This position works in collaboration with BayLegal's Directors, Managing Attorneys and Regional Counsels. This position oversees and coordinates the delivery of high quality holistic youth oriented legal assistance in areas including but not limited to public benefits, housing, consumer issues, domestic violence, and education across BayLegal's seven-county service area.

• Ability to track, maintain and report statistics to funders.

Experience and Education: Juris Doctorate Degree, California Bar membership, five or more years relevant experience such as experience leading affirmative litigation and/or policy advocacy efforts; direct services experience, particularly in areas related to youth advocacy; experience developing projects and leading diverse teams; and demonstrated commitment and ability to work with underrepresented communities.
