General Job Description
The Communications Associate is a member of the Development & Communications Team. This position plays a critical role in coordinating the Committee’s donor communications, digital and print media, events materials and press outreach, as well as being an integral part of the team that will implement fundraising appeals. This is an exciting new position that will reinforce the Committee’s cutting-edge civil rights and racial justice work as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary and move in to the future.

Responsibilities
• Under the supervision of the Director of Development and Communications, develop a communications strategy that promotes the mission of the Committee.
• Primary responsibility for the implementation of the Committee’s communication with donors including digital campaigns, e-newsletter, print materials, event publications, website, and social media.
• Manage online engagement for the Committee, including tracking and evaluating metrics to grow and improve outreach to existing and new constituencies.
• Support the work of program staff in all aspects of press engagement.
• Provide support as needed on all development functions.

Requirements: 

Qualifications
• Passion for civil rights and racial equity.
• Excellent written, verbal, and organization skills.
• At least two years of related work experience, or a comparable position with demonstrated success.
• Demonstrated record of accomplishment of taking initiative, effective problem-solving and good judgment.
• Strong capacity to manage competing deadlines across teams.

DOE based on established salary schedule
