Position Description: 

Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida (CLSMF) is seeking an A+ candidate for the position of Director of Public Interest & Litigation. Joining a civil legal aid team using impact litigation and advocacy as its primary tools to pursue justice and equal rights through authentic and holistic service delivery to clients. This position can be located in our Orlando, Daytona Beach or Ocala offices. CLSMF’s Director of Litigation will support, refine, build, and maintain best in class approaches to support the expertise of our diverse and highly talented legal team, this Florida Attorney in good standing and experienced legal services litigator, will utilize the ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple complex cases in state and federal courts, while also monitoring and troubleshooting dozens of other significant cases handled by program staff.
CLSMF’s Director of Public Interest & Litigation will support and work collaboratively across 10 office locations in our 12-county service area with practice groups in the areas of Family Law, L/T & Fair Housing, Public Benefits, Children’s Rights, Consumer Law, Economic Development, Medical Legal Partnerships, and Strategic Community Litigation (including litigation in cooperation with other civil legal aid and public interest agencies).
This highly visible position is skilled at leveraging inter-agency partnerships and policy advocacy, and is uniquely qualified to mentor, train and supervise attorneys at wide range of experience levels. Must also handle a significant array of management tasks, including grant compliance, personnel supervision and quality assurance evaluations, staff retention, private bar relations, and strategic planning
The CLSMF Director of Public Interest & Litigation a FT position with the ability to work both scheduled and flexible work hours, including some evenings/weekends, based on business need throughout CLSMF’s 12-county service area.
